Tamera Mowry Readig

I love to read, and lately I have been trying to make more of an effort to carve out the time to curl up with a good book. My love of reading began in high school when we read George Orwell’s 1984, and since then, I have been hooked.  Once I had my children, my moments for reading became few and far between (something I think other moms can relate to). However, now that my children are getting a little bit older and are not babies anymore, I really want to make reading a regular practice again.

Reading just feels good for the soul … I have never regretted reading a book. With every book I read, I always learn something new, and expand my knowledge. It doesn’t matter if I am reading a literary classic, a biography or a beach read — Books always stimulate my mind and expand my view of the world in one way or another!

Since I am getting really excited about all the new books I can’t wait to read this fall (and I am deep into Amazon book ordering right now), I wanted to share with you guys some recommendations. I have some titles to recommend to you that I have read and love, and then I have other titles on the list that I am really excited to read next.

Let me know if you guys have read any of the books on my list, or if you have other recommendations for me! I would love to know!

Xx
Tamera

Water for Elephants: A Novel Kindle Edition By Sara GruenJacob Janowski’s luck had run out–orphaned and penniless, he had no direction until he landed on a rickety train that was home to the Benzini Brothers Most Spectacular Show on Earth. A veterinary student just shy of a degree, he was put in charge of caring for the circus menagerie. It was the Great Depression and for Jacob the circus was both his salvation and a living hell. 1. As a new Homeschooling momma, most of my reading is now devoted to lesson plans, and rereading the classic for school work for my three children.
But I recently read! The light and the Glory, and I bought Strong fathers,
Strong daughters for my hubby! he read it, and I am now reading so that we can
    discuss.

  2. Looking for Lovely is an incredible book! I totally recommend. It can be a life transformation book. It showed me the importance of finding beauty in everything. I still struggle with doing that but this book has truly helped me have a different outlook in life.

  3. I love reading since I can remember and have 3 books to recommend you:

    1) The Shadow of the wind, by Carlos Ruiz Zafrón. A Really beautiful novel based in diferent recent history times in Barcelona, it’s not a history novel, but it’s so well documented and you’ll feel you are walking the streets of the city (my city). It’s the firts book of a trilogy but it can be read alone: https://www.amazon.es/Shadow-Wind-Cemetery-Forgotten-Books/dp/0753820250/ref=sr_1_4?s=foreign-books&ie=UTF8&qid=1507344116&sr=1-4&keywords=carlos+ruiz+zafon

    2) Brave new world, by Aldous Huxley. Due to your love for Orwell’s 1984 I’m sure you’ve already read it, but I had to recommend it. I read the one after the other when I was in Highschool too and I loved them: https://www.amazon.es/Brave-New-World-Vintage-Classics/dp/0099477467/ref=sr_1_1?s=foreign-books&ie=UTF8&qid=1507344458&sr=1-1&keywords=aldous+huxley

    3) Middlesex, by Jeffrey Eugenides. Perhaps my all time favorite. A Beautiful intergenerational story about a family, from the Greek-Turquish Mediterranean part of Europe at the begginning of the 20th century, to the 70 circa, all centered on an intersex little girl. Such a beautiful story, plenty of beautyful 3D characters. The author received a Pullitzer after this novel (his 2nd!): https://www.amazon.es/Middlesex-Jeffrey-Eugenides/dp/0007528647/ref=sr_1_2?s=foreign-books&ie=UTF8&qid=1507344745&sr=1-2&keywords=jeffrey+eugenides

    Kind regards!

  4. I love the Chronicles of Narna too. The Book Thief sounds like a book up my alley. I find those kinds of books very intriguing. I myself is a Christian author. Since I started learning how to do spiritual warfare, God has given me four books to write, two of which are published on Amazon now. The Path of the Chosen Warriors and A Shattered Life Restored. I think you would find them very interested. I focus on using this platform to help christians and none-christians come to now Christ in a fictional way that they can understand and able to apply to their lives. God bles you sister.
