Family Photo Album: Hawaii

Earlier this month my family and I took the most amazing vacation to Hawaii to attend a friend’s wedding. We spent a glorious and relaxing week on the island of Maui (I seriously did not want to come home). We stayed at the Marriott Wailea Beach Resort, which was absolutely lovely, and they took great care of us! The trip was just what I needed … A little rest, a little fun and lots of quality time spent together as a family!

Now that my children are a little older, it was especially fun for me to watch them run around and play, and just be together. Aden loves swimming, and he and my husband had an absolute blast together in the pool. The Marriott Wailea had one of the best family pools at a hotel that I have ever seen (now that I am a mom, hotel features like this are my new normal!). The hotel also had these awesome kids’ teepees you could rent that Aden and Ariah absolutely loved.

We made some really special memories on this trip. Their laughter playing in the pool was completely infectious, and I couldn’t wait until the next day when we would get to do it all over again. Life can get so busy, and this vacation reminded me of the importance of taking time off to be with my family without outside interruptions.

Every time I go to Hawaii I am reminded of what a special place it really is. I can’t wait until the next time we go back. I’m so excited to share with you guys the photos from my trip, I hope you enjoy them!

Let me know where your favorite places are to take a family vacation!

Vacation Packing Essentials

Vacation Outfit

ASOS Off Shoulder Linen Top In Tropical Print Co-ord

There is nothing quite like counting down the days until you go on vacation. For me, the excitement really sets in once I start to pack. This year my family and I will be heading to Hawaii, and I of course will be packing all the warm weather basics like shorts, breezy tops and long flowing dresses — But whenever I go on vacation, I have a few other key items that I always make sure are in my suitcase.

For starters, I love getting a little more playful with fashion and putting together looks that are truly resort wear. This year, I packed this ASOS Tropical Floral Print shorts and matching off the shoulder top (pictured above). This ensemble is not only affordable, but also something I will totally keep wearing during the summer!

My other vacation essentials include:

A great travel bag — When you are traveling with children, a good travel bag is an absolute must. Not only are you carrying around all of your important items, but you are traveling with a whole bunch of stuff for them as well. Choose a bag that is durable, comfortable on your shoulder, and can hold a lot of stuff!

Quality skin protection — Making sure my face is protected is a huge priority for me! I always invest in a high-quality sunscreen. I want to know exactly what I am putting on my skin, and on my children’s skin so I always plan ahead when buying our family’s sun protection.

Versatile beach cover up — Investing in a black or dark colored beach cover up has proven to be a very smart move for me because it doesn’t show any dirt! It also saves me from having to pack multiple cover ups.

Comfortable sandals — Of course having cute shoes is always great, but when your packing space is limited make sure you bring one go-to pair that is very comfortable! There is nothing worse than brining a new pair of shoes on vacation and getting blisters.

A few pieces of jewelry — Instead of packing the entire jewelry box, I bring just a few pieces of jewelry that are fun and more on the playful side. Bring a couple pieces that can be dressed up or down, and will look great with a simple outfit like a maxi dress or shorts and a white tee shirt.

Instant camera — I take a ton of photos on my phone when we travel, and my husband brings along his professional camera, but there is something really fun about having an instant camera. It’s small to pack, the kids love it, and the instant photos are like little souvenirs from our trip.

My Paris Fall Fashion Guide

I recently had the amazing opportunity to go to Paris in honor of my girl Adrienne’s wedding, and let me tell you, Paris really is always a good idea. It was such a fabulous trip and I had so much fun with with everyone, including my amazing assistant Amy, who helped me document all my fall outfits to share with all of you. Since I was only there for a few days, I knew I had to make the most of each event, whether it was touring a museum or the wedding itself. Each stop in our trip was so special that I wanted to take as many pics as I could, and of course that meant wearing something memorable in each! So for all you fellow lovers of France, here’s my official Paris fall fashion guide…

Cashmere buttoned side sweater (similar here) / Cashmere blend tights / Short pencil skirt / All Saints jacket (similar here) / Steve Madden boots / Chanel bag

This look was for our shopping day, where we wandered the beautiful streets of Paris. Even when an outfit is really casual, I like to dress it up with heeled boots and a nice jacket.

In the evening, I met up with everyone for the rehearsal dinner, which meant opting for something a bit more formal but still really playful and fun.

Pink Valentino cape dress / Nude Monika Chiang pumps / House of CB coat / Hendri Bendel bag

This time of year in Paris definitely requires a jacket or two. It can be tough to find a coat to wear with an evening look, but this House of CB coat did the trick.

Knit sweater dress / Drapey gray longline jacket (sold out, similar here) / Vintage Dooney & Bourke purse (gift from Tahj :))

This was my museum tour look. Gotta be comfortable when exploring the city…

Nf by Nour gown styled by Kelly Johnson with hair by Amy / Jimmy Choo shoes / Farbod Barsum clutch

Attending a wedding in Paris is one good reason to go ALL out, guys. This Nf by Nour gown was a stunner. It was nice to see pre-mama Tamera come out again :)

We squeezed one more adventure in, just walking around and enjoying the markets, landmarks and Eiffel tower. All that walking on a chilly and cloudy day called for Hunter boots and a pea coat. One of my fave casual looks! Besides the looks shown above, I also wore an insanely cozy jumpsuit for the long flight, and this knit dress and wool coat combo.

What’s your favorite look? And, have you ever been to Paris?
