Thirty Seconds Before You Sit

Chat is faster than the help icon. That is why people sit blind. The timer is short, the dealer is talking, someone just hit a coloured pair. The price of the table is in a panel most players never open.

Do this before the first chip, in order.

1. Decks. Eight is the live default. Fine. You are not counting a two-deck pit from a YouTube thumbnail.

2. Natural payout. 3:2 or leave. If the tile will not say it, the table is hostile until the panel says 3 to 2 in words.

3. Dealer 17. You want stand on all 17s. Hit soft 17 is a silent widen.

4. Double after split, number of splits, surrender. Streamed shoes usually give you one split, one card to aces, no DAS, no surrender. That is still a real game. It is not the card in your screenshot from a Las Vegas visitors' guide. Play the sheet you have.

5. Insurance odds, then decline. 2:1 looks fair. It is fair only when tens are rich. They are not, at the top of eight decks. Even money is the same bet in a kinder label.

Deal Now shortens the betting phase once every seated player taps it. Pre-decisions exist for every seat except the far right. Some rooms let you cover up to three boxes. None of those controls change the edge. They change how fast you give the edge a chance to work.

Shuffle is worth ten seconds. A cut card, then a manual shuffle, with two shoes in rotation, is not a continuous shuffling machine. You still will not beat eight decks with a phone app. You will at least know you are not in a CSM grind.

Timeout is the trap if you look away. One live client hits 11 or less and stands 12 or more. It never doubles. It never splits. It will stand 12 against a 9. Disconnect uses the same hit-and-stand stub. That is not basic strategy. If you walk to the kettle, you have hired a terrible actor.
