Actor, producer, host, and entrepreneur Tamera Mowry-Housley is quickly becoming a Hollywood powerhouse. Named to Ebony magazine’s power 100 list in 2013, Tamera landed a coveted co-host spot on the multi-racial daytime talk show The Real. Tamera is keeping it real alongside co-hosts Loni Love, Adrienne Bailon, and Jeannie Mai. The hosts unapologetically share their varied life experiences, including new motherhood, new marriage, dating, and singledom. After a record setting ratings performance, The Real was recently renewed for two more seasons and will air on Fox and BET through 2017-2018.
Tamera Mowry-Housley and her sister Tia have captivated audiences for over 20 years. The twin sisters got their start as the young stars of over 100 episodes of the hit television series Sister, Sister that ran from 1994-1999. The Twins most recently starred on the hit Style Network reality TV series Tia and Tamera from 2011-2013.
Sister, Sister made Tamera Mowry-Housley a 90’s pop culture icon. The series garnered Tamera many awards including: NAACP Image Award for Outstanding Actress in a Comedy Series two years in a row; Kid’s Choice Award for Favorite Television Actress three years in a row; induction into Kid’s Choice Awards Hall of Fame. In 2015, Tamera and co-author Tia released Twintuition: Double Vision, the first in their children’s book series from HarperCollins Publishers. Tia and Tamera were also voted two of the most powerful women on Twitter by AOL Black Voices.
Tamera’s additional credits include television movies Christmas Angel, Something To Sing About and Seventeen Again as well as guest appearances on Melissa & Joey (ABC Family) in 2013 & 2014. She was also a series regular on Strong Medicine (Lifetime) and Roommates (ABC Family). Tamera has also lent her voice to Fox’s hit show Family Guy and Cartoon Network’s Super Hero Squad Show.
Tamera appeared in the Disney Channel original movie Twitches in 2005, one of the channel’s highest-rated movies of all time. She then appeared in Twitches Too two years later. In 2010 Tamera started a production company with her sister, Twilight Productions. She produced and starred in the Lifetime movie, Double Wedding. On the big screen, Tamera co-starred in the Rob Schneider comedy The Hot Chick. Tamera can next be seen guest starring in 2014 on the ABC Family hit Melissa and Joey.
While balancing a flourishing career, Mowry-Housley graduated with Honors from Pepperdine University with a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology with an emphasis on Abnormal Childhood Development. The oldest sister by two minutes, Mowry-Housley was born in Germany then raised Southern California. Mowry-Housley married FOX News correspondent Adam Housley in May 2011, they welcomed their first child Aden John Tanner Housley in November 2012 and welcomed their second child Ariah Talea Housley on July 1st, 2015. Tamera and Adam have homes in Los Angeles and Napa Valley.
