Signed Twintuition Giveaway

I can’t believe that in exactly one week Tia and my tween book, Twintuition, will be released. It seems like just yesterday we announced the series, but forever ago since we started working to make our dream a reality with HarperCollins. Reading is incredibly important to us both. It’s something we liked doing with our parents as children, continue to enjoy today (cookbooks count too!), and is an activity we love doing with our boys now. I hope that Twintuition will encourage tweens to read, while giving parents a tool to instill the value of reading in their children. And because I’m bursting at the seams to hear what you all think of the series, I couldn’t think of a better way to celebrate the release than with a giveaway. So, follow the instructions below and you could be one of five readers to take home a book signed by those Tia and me!

Our Baby Shower Recap

A few weekends ago, Adam and I celebrated our upcoming baby girl at the prettiest of showers we could have dreamed of. It was amazing. I had told Andrea, one of my best friends, that I didn’t want to know any details beforehand–I trusted her to handle logistics and design with the planner, Mindy Weiss. As expected, they didn’t disappoint! From the tables (the head table was draped in a tutu-inspired cover!) to the treats (I died when I saw the cake below), everything looked beautifully pretty in pink.

Once we arrived, the baby shower was a whirlwind. All of my dearest friends and family were there and Adam and my hearts were filled with so much love and joy. We ate, mingled, took so many pictures and played a pretty heated game of pregnancy Jeopardy. Adam got a little uncomfortable reading off some of the questions. Lol. And my girls from The Real proved that when it comes to competition, they do not slack!

Here’s a look inside our big day. And don’t forget to pick up the latest Us Weekly for more details and pics from our baby shower!

Our Trip to Belize Pt. 2

I can’t believe it has already been two weeks since Adam, Aden and I were in Belize. The landscape was so beautiful, and the relaxation, much needed. Plus, any way I can spend more time with the family is welcome. During the first part of our trip we relaxed on the beach to truly unwind, but the country’s rich history grabbed us during a visit to the jungle.

A few days into the trip we explored the Mayan ruins of Belize. Many of the country’s ruins have been around since about 2000 BCE and are stunning. We visited Xunantunich, which means “Stone Woman”. The air was crisp, there was a waterfall, and the ruins were well preserved. We spent the entire day climbing stairs and showing Aden the faces and designs carved into the stones. It was a pretty incredible experience. Here are a few pictures from the day.

So much fun exploring these ruins. We’re so tiny by comparison!

Belize Waterfall

A raging waterfall. There are many waterfalls all over the country. We’ll have to come back to see more.

Look at the size of this iguana! The boys were so thrilled to see it.

Inside My Dressing Room at The Real

Everyone should have their place. A place where it’s all about you – both in reflection and ownership. It can be your bedroom, a creative space, your cubicle at work, or even the bathroom in your house that becomes a serene location of candles and a glass of wine around the tub at the end of a long day. I’m lucky to have a few of these spaces because Adam let’s me decorate, but there is one particular space I have had to personalize with accents to truly make it my own sanctuary – my dressing room at The Real.

All of the hosts have found special ways to bring their individual dressing rooms to life and make it a calming place to retreat while getting dolled up. In my dressing room, there is always loads of makeup, hair products, and an array of teas and snacks to hold me over and keep my voice in check. There are also little pieces of my personality strewn throughout to remind me of my faith, my family, and the fashion I love. I wanted to share my dressing room with you to inspire you to find a way to integrate your own flair into your surroundings and give you a glimpse into what I keep close at hand. These pieces keep me grounded, warm (lol), and make me feel at ease when I might otherwise be stressed.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Happy Thanksgiving, everyone! Hope you’re having a wonderful day full of family, friends and good food. The real meaning behind Thanksgiving can sometimes get lost in the food comas and football the day lends itself to, but it shouldn’t be. Thanksgiving is a time to appreciate the little things and the incredible people in our lives.

So in honor of the day, I wanted to share some of the things I’m grateful for and hear from each of you. In no particular order, here is what I’m grateful for:

1. First and foremost, my family. I can’t imagine a life without them. The support and love I feel from Adam, Aden, my siblings, my parents and in-laws is unbelievable. Honestly, I don’t know how I would do it without them.

2. My friends. They have been with me through thick and thin and we love each other unconditionally. Those are the best types of friends to have.

3. My team. Every day my team makes me feel absolutely fabulous for each episode of The Real. I’m so thankful to be sharing this journey with them.

4. My health. I’m blessed to be in good health and have the knowledge to know how to eat right and take care of myself and my family.

5. My career. Ever since I was young I knew I wanted to be in entertainment. Thankfully, I’ve been able to live that dream for years. And right now, I am loving every second of The Real with Tamar, Loni, Adrienne and Jeannie.

6. You. The encouraging words and heartfelt stories each of my fans shares are priceless. Don’t think for a second I don’t read everything you all write. I wouldn’t be where I am today if it wasn’t for your support. Holiday or not, I constantly remind myself of how grateful I am for all of you.

Let me know what you’re grateful for. Sometimes sharing or writing these down is the best way to increase your happiness. Again, Happy Thanksgiving and hope you have a wonderful holiday!

Our Family Photo Shoot

Pictures can say a thousand words. They can also encapsulate a time in our lives. That’s why I love being able to do photo shoots with Aden and Adam. By the end of the day we have multiple moments captured – there for us to enjoy for years to come. They’ll surely evoke emotions, remind us of a time when Aden was little, and reinforce our never ending love for the Giants. ;) And thanks to our favorite photographer, Katee Grace, the results of these shoots are always beautiful (though I am biased). Katee’s work is stunning! I was so happy to work with her recently to snap pictures of our little abode and to create content that I’ll be sharing with you all over the next few months.

Many think photo shoots are super glamorous or staged, for us, we love having them in our home – in our element. There will be plenty of these making their way onto the pages of my site, but for now here’s a little behind the scenes peek at our family photo shoot and one of my favorite resulting images.
