I love the chance to get dressed up! Whether it is for a wedding, a party or for a work event, I always jump at the chance to put on a cocktail dress and feel glam for the night. The whole process is fun for me — From finding the perfect dress, to doing my hair and makeup, and putting on a pair of heels.
Whenever I have a reason to get all dressed up, I get so excited to start the search for the perfect outfit for the occasion. This season, I have a few fun events happening that call for cocktail / formal attire, and I am already on the hunt for the perfect dresses (other than the one I am wearing in the photos above, which I adore). While I can definitely get behind a simple and classic silhouette, I am way more into a dress that also has some kind of wow factor and that highlights my personal style. The dress doesn’t need to be crazy expensive or over-the-top; but small details or embellishments like a dramatic sleeve, a sheer panel or a perfectly placed ruffle are things I look for to make the dress special.
Above all, I always want to find a dress that suits my personality, and that I feel good in. I think that confidence is the most attractive thing that a woman can wear, and if you can find a dress that you feel like a million bucks in, you will light up the room!
Here are some of my favorite occasion dress looks this season!

With fall right around the corner, I have started shopping and scoping out some new pieces for my wardrobe … And I keep finding myself drawn to denim looks! I am definitely someone who believes you can never have enough pairs of jeans in the closet. Denim is just one of those timeless and classic wardrobe staples that you can’t go wrong with.
The past few seasons, designers have been putting out a lot more variety of denim — From overalls making a comeback, to denim blouses and bomber jackets (like the one from Lucky Brand that I am wearing above), there are a lot more styles of denim to choose from these days beyond just jeans.
Below are some of my favorite looks for fall. From a great pair of go-to jeans (Madewell is a one brand that never disappoints), to some more trendy pieces like two-tone jeans — I can’t wait to keep adding to my ever-growing denim collection and sport some of these looks this coming season!

Your bedroom should be your sanctuary! We spend a lot of time in our bedrooms, so they should be a place that makes you feel peaceful. It’s also the one room in your home that should be totally devoted just to you (a large feat if you have children!).
For me, my bedroom is a place where I recharge both mentally and physically. After a long day, I feel so good walking into my bedroom knowing that I can unwind and relax in there. And in the morning, I wake up inspired to start my day. Making sure that my bedroom was a sanctuary was a very deliberate effort. I added design and décor touches that both looked good, and made me feel calm and relaxed! These little décor additions don’t have to be elaborate or overly expensive to make your room feel like an oasis.
Here are my tips on transforming your bedroom into a very dreamy space:
- Keep the colors neutral and light — Bold colors can be way too stimulating and do not promote a relaxing vibe! If you do add color, make sure that it is in little doses. A new paint color can do wonders for changing the tone of your bedroom.
- Add throw pillows — I will admit, having so many throw pillows on the bed is little bit of extra work to take off at night and then put on again each morning — But they make all the difference in creating a space that is visually appealing!
- Make sure there are lots of soft things — Ideally, your sheets and bedding should be super soft and comfortable! I also like adding additional texture to my room by having a fur blanket draped over the end of my bed. It’s nice to cozy up with, and it also adds depth and balance to the design of the room.
- Select artwork and photos that make you happy — I have one wall of my bedroom full of pictures that hold really special memories for me. Each time I look at the photos, they make me feel happy and blessed! I like to place my photos and artwork in matching frames that complement the décor of the room.
- Invest in furniture — There are so many amazing furniture options out there these days! Even Amazon sells some pretty awesome pieces. Invest in a proper headboard and night tables. These pieces anchor the room, and will instantly elevate the design.
- Add flowers — Fresh or faux, flowers are one of those little design touches that really brighten up a room. I make it a habit to always keep fresh flowers in my bedroom because they make me smile every time I look at them.
- Pick a calming scent — Candles create ambiance! Pick a scent that is relaxing and that you can’t get enough. I love that my bedroom has signature scent.
- Add a couple of decorative objects — You don’t want to go overboard here, but by adding a couple decorative home décor objects, you will add personality and individuality to your room! A mirrored tray is a great place to start if you aren’t sure what to add because it is functional (I place perfume on mine), and looks beautiful sitting on top of my dresser.

Am I the only one who is having a moment with rompers? Now that summer is officially here, I have found myself seeking out a cute new onesie whenever I shop. I love being able to throw on a romper on the weekends, especially if I am heading out during the day to do something social like have brunch with friends. Not only are rompers a cute choice of summer outfit, but they can easily be styled so that you have a really fashionable and tied together look.
The trick is finding a romper that both fits and flatters your body type — Not all rompers are going to work on every body type! You have to try on different designers and styles, and see what works for you. I love this green multi print romper from MINKPINK (pictured about), because it hits my waist in exactly the right place, and the off-the-shoulder detail is flattering on me.
To bring the whole look together, (and avoid looking like you on a tropical vacation) try pairing your outfit with a wedge sandal. If you aren’t into wearing a heel, then try a dressier flat sandal — As a general rule, make sure that whatever shoe you wear is not one that you would wear on the beach (no rubber!). Finally, I love adding one main accessory or piece of jewelry to complete the look. Try a statement necklace, a chunky bracelet or even a cute hat.
If the weather is a little chilly, then I usually turn to a classic denim jacket as an alternative to a sweater. Again, you want to make sure that your style stays more brunch than beach! Below are some of my favorite and most coveted romper looks for the summer.

This past weekend I was at BottleRock Napa Valley, and had such an awesome time! Many of you guys reached out to me on social media to ask about the outfits I was wearing, and so I decided I had to share with you all my favorite look from the festival!
I loved this outfit so much because it checked all of my festival fashion boxes: The top was playful and fun, the shorts were super comfortable, and the hat added that extra little something to tie the whole look together.
Whenever you go to any kind of all-day summer festival, you want to look fashionable, but you also want to make sure your outfit is practical. You will most likely be spending a lot of hours on your feet, and the last thing you want is to be fussing with your clothing. The first thing I do when picking out a festival outfit is make sure that my shorts and shoes are items that I have worn before, and I know won’t become uncomfortable as the day goes on. I also always bring along a pair of jeans in case the weather is a little chilly — wearing layers is key at festivals.
Where I really like to have fun with festival fashion is with my top! I’m really into the dramatic sleeve trend that is happening this season. I love trying different sleeve and silhouette styles because they are an easy way to transform your look from basic to trendy without sacrificing comfort. Whether you try a puff sleeve or a bell sleeve, or go with a cut out or off the shoulder blouse – there are a ton of playful ways to wear this trend.
Finally, to tie the whole look together, I suggest adding to your outfit one bold accessory. Try a hat, a choker necklace or a pair of statement earrings that will complete your look, without being too over-the-top.
