Ingredients

  • 2 oz 2 Dry Vermouth

  • 1 oz 1 Lemon Juice

  • 1 oz 1 Simple Syrup

  • 6 oz 6 Sparkling Wine

  • 1 1 Lemon Twist (For Garnish)

  • 1 Cup 1 Ice

Directions

  • Start with 1 cup of ice in your cocktail shaker
  • Add 2 oz of your dry vermouth
  • Follow up with 1 oz of freshly squeezed lemon juice. Before cutting into the lemon, I'll sharpen my knife with my handy knife sharpener. Brod & Taylor is a good brand.
  • Add 1 oz of simple syrup
  • Now for the star of the show, add 6 oz of sparkling wine
  • Add your top to the cocktail shaker and shake for 15 seconds
  • Pour your drink into your champagne flute, cocktail coupe, or whatever you have on hand
  • To add your lemon garnish, cut two, one-inch segments of lemon. Use your knife to cut the outside of your lemon to remove the peel from the flesh. Once you've removed the peel, remove as much flesh as you can.
  • Wrap the lemon peel around your finger so it twists, then place it on your glass. For this part, watching the shenanigans on YouTube may be easier.
  • Last step, enjoy!

Notes

  • Fun Fact: You can only call sparking wine "champagne" if it's from Champagne, France.
